The purpose of Mens’ Ministry is to serve the men of Evangel Chapel.  The ministry seeks to encourage and educate men through fellowship, assisting men to achieve a greater personal relationship with their Lord and Savior.  The ministry will provide opportunities for men to meet for the study of God’s Word, for fellowship, prayer and mutual encouragement. The Mens’ Ministry vision is that men might grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and reflect Him more clearly to the world.

A.  Mission Statement

To empower men, as men, to serve as Christian leaders in their home,
workplace, and community, growing in Christ through ministry, fellowship, and
personal devotion.

B.   Scriptural Basis

a)            Faithfulness in the work of the Lord: “Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you.   Always give yourself fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” 1 Corinthians 15:58;
b)            Leaders with a Servant Spirit: “Jesus called them together and said,’ You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them. Not so with you.  Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,  and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all.  For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.’”  Mark 10:42-45
c)   To fulfill the Great Commission of Christ: …” Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation” Acts 1:8
d)   To promote discipleship toward full maturity in Christ: “All men will know that you are my disciples if you love one another.” John 13:35
e)   To encourage the training of believers for Christian service: “Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.  Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”  Deuteronomy 11:18-19
